I was working on Inworldz today on my Firefly starship.

Because they don't have arbitrary, no-reason, silly constraints... I managed to link the entire 768 prim, 80 meter long ship into one object.

This means I don't have to use a Multi-Move flight script (and the resultant lag) to move the ship.

It means the ship doesn't move like a can in a tornado with pieces catching up with one another... but as one linked piece, smoothly (or relatively so).

It means I don't have to worry about a ship consisting of 12 different pieces that can fly apart at a sim server whim.

It means Linky Labs can bite my scaley liddle dwagon hiney, wot it means. Their arbitrary limitations have hurt my builds long enough. From now on... I'm not gonna waste my time developing new, complex builds on SL. That is one major, frustrating waste of time and effort. Inworldz just rocks. :D

I need to move over to inworldz but there's so much stuff to move and things that are no trans I would have to start over without. I hate the idea of starting over raw.

Mean, I understand what you are saying about starting over, it's a PITA. I just spent a week building and tweaking a Sci Fi Dance Venue for the August dance and all of a sudden what was transferable no longer is. I'm not even recognized at the Creator of the thing.. That stinks and makes me wanna just throw up my hands and quit. I can use if for myself, but.. can't see or even give away copies.. Sux wotten eggs it does!!!

That is such an incredible pain. I think that's why some people purchased Copybot... to protect their own builds from permissions problems like that. It's shameful that kind of thing still happens after 7 years of operation. After 7 years of operation, the SL platform should be pretty much bug-free and totally stable. Linden Lab coding and attitude is inexcusable. They spend way to much time playing with "toys" when they should be focusing on fixing core foundation code.

BTW UniQue, I would contact Linden Lab and tell them exactly what happened. They can check the build for original creator and determine it was your build... and maybe (if they don't cop an attitude) fix the perms back to full perm for you. Don't hold your breath because Linden Lab is historically apathetic when it comes to customer welfare, but it's worth a shot.

I've got a version still that shows me as Creator, I'll just go back to that point and try again. See what happens. I've checked all the tweaks and in case there is any doubt about full perm status, will create new script and add what I need that way. Buggers!!
