WAYFINDER'S PREDICTIONS FOR 2010
Vendui' Elvenae (and Orks and Dwagons and Pixies and everyone else in our fine family)!
It has been a long and hard year, not only with severe difficulties on Second Life, but real life as well. Consider:
* RL recession which greatly hampered finances for many
* Global warming is here
, 15 years earlier than "worst case scenario" predictions
* Serious flu pandemic created global alarm

Saturday I was pushing my brain cells around trying to come up with something entertaining, so I decided to make a new backpack for my Purr. I'm not very good at building 'things' other than squares or round objects but thought I would give it a go anyhoo.
I got the backpack pretty much done (it's as basic as can be) and started off looking for sculpties. I ended up over at Jabberwackies or, um, something like that and did the tour of the mall. got a few prezzies along the way cause… Continue

* Cannot "upgrade" from Windows XP-- only from Vista. XP users will have to do a full-package clean install
* Significant incompatibility with Windows XP
* Only the pricier versions offer an XP-compatible mode
* To upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 with XP-compatibility will cost users $199
* Twelve confusing releases to choose from, with hidden "gotchas" in eight of them
* Doesn't really bring anything new to the table, nor give users a reason… Continue

Of course, I am not Drow, but Kaldorei; nevertheless I saw this and thought our Drow brethren would appreciate it.
'Tis Penny Arcade's "How the Illithid Stole Lolthmas."
EDIT: I should add that often the Penny Arcade site contains PG - R rated language. This link, however, does not.

Saturday, we had the ElvenMyst Expert Archery Championship consisting of the expert winners for the last 3 months. This was a very tough competition. I used the targets at the archery range however the rules for each one were very specific. This made it extremely challenging--which is what it should--these people were the expert winners!!!!!!!!
Fortunately, no spectators were harmed or the official, which is sometimes the case when archery is concerned!!
EXPERT CHAMPION CYN… Continue

I recently purchased one of the Cloudwalker Steampunk Skyboxes from Zauber. I got it because I wanted to have a Freetube player and some other articles that play media on my parcel, but were totally outta sync with the theme. This has worked out perfectly for me as I have it rezzed some 3000 m in the air and can tp there any time I choose to listen to music or watch videos. There is so much room in it, and the environment is simple fabulous. You can even change the color of the lights with a… Continue

NOTE: Just so we start on the same page, this article has nothing to do with religion or God. Religion is prohibited by the Elf Clan Charter-- not because we disrespect such-- but because we very much respect the right of our individual members to conduct themselves by their personal beliefs without attack from others. We cause no offense by exercising such beliefs in the face of opposing beliefs. Religion is a deeply personal thing. What I discuss in this article isn't God and religion per… Continue

Over the past several months I've sent out "Elf Clan Tricks and Tips"... things that can assist in daily enjoyment of Second Life. Thought that maybe a compendium of such thoughts would be good. I'm going to start with a few, some of them well-known, others not so well known. Members can add additional things in the comments.

Every had trouble reading signs? Here is how you zoom in on them:
Windows systems: Cursor on the target, ALT - LEFT CLICK -… Continue

The greatest builder you've never hear of, this is how I like to describe myself to people. Why? Because it's most likely true. Having spent 5 years in SL, I have accumulated a massive expanse of knowledge and skill when building certain items with prims. I've taken up animating and become such that even fellow animators bow to my skills. I've learned a slight bit of scripting and through innovation (and still some errors) I produce items that do what many others do not.
So, what is… Continue

Today, I participated in a weapon building contest. It took place in the Ambrea RP sims in South Tarrund.
If you are an RPer of Ambrea, I ask you to come view our builds and vote on the best.
The contest happened at 12 SL time. The rules were as of such.
We start with a prim they give us and make copies of it to make our item, molding the prim as we see fit.
Sculpties may not be used unless you put a sculpt map onto the prim (basically means use… Continue

Today I received no less than half a dozen email messages from Second Life-- repeats that were originally sent 2 and 3 weeks ago. I also received a new IM from a friend saying he had experienced the same thing.
But that's not the worst of it. I also received a second delivery of an item I won from a Midnight Mania display during the same period (about 2 weeks ago). Now, I have to wonder, if I received a duplicate like that... how many other people just received duplicates of things… Continue

The Jackasses are a movie-making group of questionable-wisdom individuals who seem to believe they are bullet proof. They perform a number of dangerous stunts and pranks, which they apparently think are funny, for the purpose of making profit while just being Jackasses. They've earned a bit of cash so some would claim they're "successful". I'm sure in their own eyes they fully believe they are and will continue to do so-- at least until one of their stunts goes horribly wrong and kills the… Continue

I happened to be online last night when the following events transpired. I will offer up my investigative reporting of the events as they happened (at least what I heard and saw). I have even brought back evidence of such happenings so you can determine in your own minds what might have happened. Regardless of whether a 'liddle dwagon' is guilty of supposed crimes or not, he is innocent until proven guilty. So, let those come forward who have evidence to the contrary. Word of mouf, ah mouth..… Continue
